Most homeowners don’t think about drainage until the lawn starts dying.

It usually starts small — a patch that stays wet a day longer than the rest of the yard. A line of yellow grass along the foundation. Mosquitoes in the same spot every summer. You extend the downspout. You add a splash block. You wait for it to dry out. It doesn’t.

Here’s what happens next: the grass dies, the soil compacts, mosquitoes breed through July, and every hard rain pushes water a little closer to the foundation. By year two you’re not just dealing with a wet yard — you’re looking at foundation repairs, dead lawn replacement, and a mosquito problem that won’t go away.

One Visit. The Right Drain for Your Yard.

Downspout drains. Buried extensions that move roof runoff away from the foundation and out into the yard (or out to the street). Replaces the splash block and the 3-foot extender that’s not actually fixing anything.

French drains. Gravel-filled trenches with perforated pipe — the standard fix for soggy lawn areas where water collects and won’t drain. Buried, invisible once installed, and effective for years.

Channel drains. Surface-level drains that pull water off driveways, patios, and hardscape transitions where water sheets across the surface and into the wrong places.

Catch basins. Collectors that pull standing water off the surface and feed it into the underground drainage system. Used in low spots where water pools for days.

Dry wells. Underground holding tanks that let collected water slowly absorb back into the soil instead of pooling on the surface. Good end-of-line solution when there’s nowhere to pipe the water.

Resod over the drain or reuse your existing sod. We don’t tear up your lawn and leave a bare patch. After install, we either lay fresh sod over the work line or carefully cut out and reuse your existing sod to cover it. Your lawn looks like we were never there.

Most drainage installs finish in one day. We dig, set the drain, backfill, and either resod or restore your existing sod. All debris is hauled away. By the next rain, you’ll see the difference.

A Splash Block Isn’t a Drainage System. Neither Is a 3-Foot Downspout Extension.

Most homeowners try to fix a drainage problem three or four times before they call us.

They try a splash block. Then a longer downspout extension. Then they grade a low spot by hand. Then they wait another season for the problem to “fix itself.”

It doesn’t, because the actual problem is bigger than any of those fixes can solve. Water is pooling because the soil can’t absorb it, or the grade is sending it the wrong way, or the downspout is dumping it in a spot that floods every time it rains.

Seoetmber 14,2026 Josh and Mike of Vinedresser did a fantastic job today of returning our landscape back to its original state by trimming our bushes, weed removal and replacing some dead bushes.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.  I had an issue with the drainage in my front yard and the major storm we had a few Fridays ago.  I called 5 Services to get help and Vinedresser Lawn and Landscape was the only company to return my cal.  They called me within 10 Minutes.  They sent a Pro Drainage Expert out to view my situation and give a quote to replace to clogged system.  With in 10 minutes of Brad leaving I had a Written Quote and Contract in hand.  After contacting the Office to accept to contract and schedule a date.  They an are busy company and I did have to wait about 10 days for the repair.  I was happy with the timing.  Today the crew showed up and talking with the lead (James) to point out a few hazards they needed to lookout for they went to work and with in 5 hours they were dome and you could hardly tell where that had to dig.  The replace all the sod and left a very clean work area. They are a little pricy but you get what you pay for and I will give the entire company a 10 out of 10. Thank you guys. When Mike first arrived he walked the yard with me explaining how he and his team were going to weed and treat the garden beds before laying the new pine-straw.  They did a great job including cutting and refining new bed edges and beautifully tucked the pine-straw leaving a very professional and polished look. Q: How do I know what type of drain I need?
A: You probably don’t — that’s normal. Most homeowners can describe the symptom (standing water, soggy lawn, water sheeting across the driveway) but not the cause. That’s what the free on-site estimate is for. We walk the yard, identify where the water’s coming from and where it needs to go, and recommend the right drain type for your specific problem.

Q: Will my lawn have to come up?
A: Not necessarily. Most installs require a narrow trench across the affected area. After install, we resod over the drain line with fresh sod, or carefully cut out and reuse your existing sod to cover the work. Either way, your lawn looks like we were never there — no bare patches, no dead zones.

Q: How long does the install take?
A: Most drainage installs finish in one day, depending on the type and length of drain being installed. We’ll give you a time window when we schedule.

Q: What if the drainage system doesn’t fix the problem?
A: We design the system around your specific yard before we install, so this is rare. But if water still pools where it shouldn’t after the install, we come back and re-evaluate at no charge. We don’t leave until the system is moving water the way it should.
